This was a letter to Mrs. Louis Stickles from 1918. The letter was from a girl, “Helen” who was writing on behalf of “Clarence” who was in distress that he hasn’t received a letter from Mrs. Stickles (his mother). Helen could have been a girlfriend or good friend of Clarence’s.
Three months after the letter was written, Clarence died in France in February 1919 at the age of 25. His brother, Elmer, survived him. Clarence had no children.
This letter was returned to Mrs. Louis Stickles’s great-great-granddaughter and the great-granddaughter of Elmer.
